About Samaya Designs
"Samaya"
is a Sanskrit word that literally means "coming together," and is frequently
used both in Indian yogic traditions as well as Vajrayana Buddhism to refer to
the commitment that a spiritual aspirant makes to the teacher, to the practice,
and to one's own progress on the path.
Samaya Designs is a company that was created in Boulder,
Colorado in 2005 out of our desire to express our appreciation
for the Eastern spiritual disciplines that have guided us, as
well as to our teachers, in a concrete way. The designs that are
used on our jewelry have been inspired by our many travels and
studies and have been chosen both for their aesthetic value and
for the meanings that they hold. We hope that in looking at
them, one will be reminded of their significance and inspired to
continue one's path.
